It gives me immense pleasure to express that the Kumaun University has successfully completed another milestone
of its mission. The vision of the University is high quality educational experience. This vision can only be
realized, among other things, if there is a well expressed strategic plan that guides the University. During the
last two academic years, the University embarked on a process of developing its strategic plan, and to date
has completed the process of reviewing where it is coming from and where it is now. Soon, it will start on the
process of where it is going, why it is going and how it will arrive there. More than hundred academic
and related activities and events organized by our University in last two years are self-evident in this
perspective. I believe that this University will not be diverted from its course towards academic
excellence. Kumaun University has, since its inception, valued the concern for the right kind of education.
I can, with great pride and pleasure, state that the students have been provided with a grooming ground,
that has transformed them into not just skilled citizens, but also, into individuals that possess a keen sense to
inquire, observe, comprehend, learn and contribute. I take the opportunity to extend my sincere appreciation to our Chancellor, the Government, the UGC, members of the Court and the Executive Council, the Academic and administrative fraternity for providing unstinted cooperation and support to the University in its march towards its mission. I also wish to take this opportunity to welcome academicians and all those interested in higher education to our University.
